Both feet forward is a charity started for matters relating to the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management approximately six years ago. This was initially in response to parents that were kind enough to want to donate money after having had their children treated with us. Since then our income has all come from friends and family in one form or another. This has included dinners, race nights, sponsored marathons, ‘rock and roll’ nights and is also to include a run of Hadrian’s Wall!
This has allowed us to contribute to the following:

Every year we have a Christmas party for the children with entertainment and food. |

We are able to support parents that have had to travel long distances with their children for treatment. |

We have been the instigators and major supporters in the development of the parent DVD that has been made ‘By the parents for the parents’ to explain the Ponseti method of clubfoot management’. This won the British Medical Association award for information in 2006. |

We have devised and developed a database for recording demographic and outcome data of all children that are going through our clinic. This database is now being used worldwide for research into the problems around clubfoot management and the causes of clubfoot. |

We run a lending library of teaching models for training in the UK and overseas. |

We have been able to support both our own international teaching conferences, our local training days around the country and training workshops in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Johannesburg, Laos and Papua New Guinea. |

We have been able to provide travelling subsistence to doctors coming from the developing world coming to our conferences to help them in training and in support. |
The largest sum to date has been sending professionals to Bangladesh to teach the Ponseti method.
