| You can expect to pay £600
and upwards and the price of your suit will largely be determined
by the quality of the cloth you choose. We could offer you ‘wool
blends’ in a bid to have a lower entry price but we just
can’t pen our name to man-made fabrics. Pure cashmere,
summer kid mohair, Harris tweed are all on the menu but let's
focus on our most popular first, the wool worsteds. They make
up like a dream and with a little tender loving care will stand
the test of time. A worsted in a heavier
weight will hang well and is durable but you tend not to find
the intricate designs that you get with finer cloths –
timeless pinstripes, chalk-stripes, birds-eyes, plains and
checks are what you can expect to choose from.
You may be familiar with ‘Super Numbers’
– these refer to the fineness of the yarn. The higher
the Super number, the finer the yarn which means a softer,
more luxurious cloth. A Super 150’s is divine to wear,
silky smooth to the touch and comes at a price – it’s
ideal for that special occasion, but is not to be worn
often.
So for £600 you can have a suit made up
in a worsted cloth that will wear well and still feel like
a million dollars. We then start moving into the sumptuous
Super 100’s / 120’s and if money is no object
– and you have a dressing room like Ray Liotta in ‘GoodFellas’
– you can go crazy and have a Super 150’s with
a 22 carat gold thread woven into the cloth. You can even
commission your own cloth as we are partnered with a mill
ten minutes from HQ who has been designing and producing superfine
worsteds for the last 150 years.
We take 50% of the order price as a deposit
with the balance payable when
